All you have to do is type “Trendy Kettles” into google and an assortment of gooseneck water boiling machines pop up. But why do they all have that same skinny spout, and is the matte black kettle timeless or is the style fleeting? Our list features the original and a great dupe that won't break the bank.
The trendsetter of the kettles. This was the original gooseneck matte black angular handled electric kettle. It took a full two years before replicas started coming out. But the high price tag comes with some very modern features. This kettle can not only boil water on a timer, but it has Bluetooth capabilities so you can start boiling water from your bed. It is available in over 10 original colorways making it easy to match to any kitchen. With over 2,800 five star reviews on Amazon, the people love it. You may notice there are versions that appear to be identical from Fellow-Stagg for lower prices, but those are stovetop kettles, not the electric version. If you are a barista, interior designer, or just love a high quality appliance then this kettle may be for you.

Almost identical to the Fellow Stagg kettle, but at a third of the price, is the Bodum Bistro Gooseneck. A new product by Bodum likely introduced to rival the Fellow-Stagg, the Bistro gooseneck is a beautiful and functional kettle for pour over and tea. It is also currently on sale at a few various retailers. The Bodum Bistro Gooseneck is tall with a slightly larger water capacity than its rivals. It also has a hidden electric base that blends seamlessly into the kettles' natural lines. Making it a chic kitchen accessory. Durability- how sturdy are these goosenecks, really?

Smeg has definitely made a name for themselves in the fancy appliance world. Known for their odd shapes, bright colorways, and front and center branding, there is nothing on the market quite like a Smeg kettle. Looking very similar to a 1960’s rocket, the Smeg kettle is a favorite amongst trendy bloggers. It is also one of the only kettles you can find in bright red, pastel pink and baby blue. The reviews on the Smeg Mini Kettle tell an interesting story though, about the surprisingly poor quality for the price. But we felt that this statement kettle still deserved a place on our list.

The Zwilling Enfinigy Cool Touch Kettle just sounds like it was made for tea. (Isn't Zwilling a tea brand?- Or is that Twinings? )Either way- this is the perfect kettle for a house of children. The kettle is designed to be cool to the touch, even when in use. Meaning there is no chance of little fingers (or big) getting burnt from grazing the kettle. Most kettles are burning hot when in use, but the Zwilling Enfinigy is perfectly safe to the touch. It also has one of the largest water capacities, coming in at a 1.5 liters

The no frills kettle, at a very affordable price. Speaking from experience, this is a very durable kettle. One that was able to happily last 4 years- it’s point of demise was to no fault of its own and can be blamed on Los Angeles hard water. This kettle is very functional. It can fit into a fridge water dispenser for ease of use.

Stylish and affordable, this electric kettle from Chefman is a winner. It features a sleek glass design that allows you to watch your water boil. It also boasts a massive 1.7 liter water capacity. Making this kettle ideal for families, who are using lots of water. It also makes it a great kettle to use if you’re looking to save time when boiling water for pasta or other stovetop items. Plus, coming in $17.99 the price is absolutely unbeatable. Does the glass make this kettle slightly more delicate than others? Possibly-as it might not survive a fall off of the counter. But at this price, replacing it is a breeze.
